The Talent Company has been retained by a proven market leader in communications and media in Canada to recruit for a Senior Director, Creative, Merchandising and Store Design.

The Senior Director, Creative, Merchandising and Store Design reports to the VP, Channel Marketing and is responsible for driving creative, brand, store design and build and merchandising strategy across the consumer sales channels. Leading a team of skilled leaders and professionals, the Senior Director will be accountable for:

  • Ensuring consistency branding across all platforms and channels
  • Leading brand implementation for branded and partner retail channels, including packaging, uniform creative and other brand execution
  • Providing product/service creative for branded and partner retail including print and digital signage across various brands
  • Ensuring creative and brand fulfillment requirements are met across sales channels
  • Driving an overall holistic approach for creative across sales channels by understanding business priorities and timelines, and aligning deliverables accordingly
  • Leading the overarching strategy for store design, layout and build within the branded retail channels
  • Ensuring a clear direction on merchandising is designed, communicated and roll out through all direct and partner retail channels · Collaborating with key partners and stakeholders across channel marketing, brand and sales channels
  • Proven ability to build and lead a 1-3-year strategic plan
  • Track record of driving business results through creative strategies and tactics, as well as implementing productivity improvements
  • 8-10 years of experience in marketing, store design & build, merchandising, visual communications or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of methods and best practices in visual marketing in the following areas: visual merchandising, fixture design/development, print and digital signage, planograms and branding
  • Experience in selection and management of agency and consulting resources
  • Proven ability to effectively influence and collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders
  • Experience in leading a multi-functional team; with a focus on coaching, mentoring, development and fostering a collaborative environment
  • Highly adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
