Senior Human Resources Business Partner

Our client is a technology company with a global presence. Repeatedly recognized as a top employer, they are seeking a Senior HR Business Partner who will be proactive in creating solutions and providing strategic advice to your client group.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the SVP People & Growth, your mission will be to act as a trusted advisor and partner to Senior Sales Leaders and their sales teams. This will include:
  • Help leaders understand levers that reinforce a winning culture and lead with the organization’s values, drive engagement, foster an inclusive and diverse environment, and create a high-quality employee experience.
  • Provide coaching at the manager level and above.
  • Provide support on the research, design and development of People & Growth initiatives in support of the People & Growth strategy, using expert knowledge of the business groups.  Facilitate the creation of an implementation and communication plan into the local business groups that achieves the agreed deliverables.
  • Act as a subject matter expert of People & Growth, legal, and regulatory requirements in conjunction with best practices to ensure business unit compliance and competitiveness.
  • Independently drive methods for effective talent and succession planning processes to provide for proactive identification and development of leaders for future roles.
  • Proactively work with the management team on workforce planning and effective staffing strategies to select and hire only top talent, develop and use workforce analytics and business metrics.
  • Lead employee investigations and resolutions for all business group employee issues.
  • Foster a fun and engaging culture and environment.
  • Support the delivery and deployment of People & Growth programs and processes and participate in coaching and guiding in functional and cross-functional initiatives (GPS, Compensation, Succession Planning, engagement survey and performance review cycle).
  • Recognize barriers to success and facilitate proactive dispute resolution that supports a performance driven culture.  Use judgment supported by human resources acumen and practical experience to escalate matters as required.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, maintain and engaged workforce and retain the best talent.
  • Provide both transformational advice on change management initiatives, organizational, departmental restructures, job role design, in order to improve cost and efficiency, clarify accountabilities and employer delivery of great customer service.
  • Contribute to the development of the wider People & Growth strategy and work closely with the SVP and others to ensure cohesive and coordinated services across the company.
  • Manage, coach and mentor one direct report.
 

Requirements:
To successfully step into this role you will have:
  • CHRL designation & University degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years functioning as an HR Business Partner.
  • Broad HR expertise including a solid grounding in labour law (Canada & US) as well as HR best practices.
  • The desire and expertise to elevate HR to a strategic level while still delivering on daily priorities.
  • People management experience.
  • Experience partnering with sales is preferred.
