Our client, a leader in the loyalty and payments industry has retained The Talent Company to search for a Director, Business Development. The mandate for this role is to close on new business and drive new opportunities.  You will lead a team of two and actively contribute to the department's short, mid and long-term market strategies. 
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Partner closely with the Vice President, Business Development to develop sales strategies with a focus on expanding market opportunities and net new client portfolio; 
  • Working with leadership to maximize company profit while foreseeing and avoiding stagnation in the marketplace;
  • Mentoring, coaching, developing and performance managing a small team of Business Development professionals;
  • Take the lead as “player-coach” in being present and active during the new client prospect and onboarding phases;
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of current and future product roadmap;
  • Lead the RFP process for opportunities and deliver effective and competitive responses that showcase the tremendous value added capabilities of the organization;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry, leveraging co-marketing initiatives and partnerships;
  • Actively work on the budget process and subsequent reporting on performance against budget and respective forecast targets;
  • Lead by example and contribute to the organizations culture with a positive attitude, entrepreneurial zeal, and integrity;
 
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience within Business Development;
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a leader and with performance management;
  • A proven track record of developing, leading and executing on a business development strategy which includes net new client growth;
  • Thorough knowledge and proven sales success within the loyalty, payment and prepay space;
  • Proven sales success within the B2B Retail space;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to present and influence at the executive level;
  • Excellent executive-level written skills including the creation of compelling RFP responses;
  • Strong Microsoft Office expertise with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
