Senior Payroll Specialist

Our client, a leading global organization within the Pharmaceutical industry, has partnered with The Talent Company to help recruit for a Senior Payroll Specialist for their office in Mississauga. This is a 1-year contract with a possibility to go permanent afterward. This person must have experience working with Dayforce and complete the necessary day-to-day payroll tasks. They will work in a small team reporting into the Payroll Supervisor. They offer a highly flexible environment with a progressive team. 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Support bi-weekly end to end National payroll production (incl. Quebec), including audits and validations
  • Ensure privacy, accuracy, and quality of data being transferred from HRIS to payroll Vendor
  • Ongoing documentation of data processes, including but not limited to Payroll related SOPs/BOPs
  • Participate in all phases of new/updates to Payroll technology, acting as a technical expert
  • Assist with development of process documents as it relates to payroll technology
  • Manage rules/requirement in time management system (Kronos/Dayforce)
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process changes to reduce transactional activities
  • Extract and Analyze data to ensure accuracy of information
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Work with Finance teams to support internal budgeting, forecast cycles
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, annual, reporting requirements (Internal and external)
  • Acting as a strategic partner with Internal and external stakeholders to provide knowledge and problem solve
  • Assist in Year End process (T4/Releve) balancing and production
  • Complete Monthly and Annual Payroll account reconciliations and bill backs
  • Work with Sr. HR. Coordinator and Sr. Total Rewards Specialist to identify and resolve data extract/integration issues
  • Self-Starter, able to work through ambiguity with minimal supervision
  • Strong multi-tasking, organization skills
  • Analytical with keen attention to detail 
Requirements:
  • 5+ Progressive payroll experience
  • System implementation/integration experience
  • Solid knowledge and experience with payroll HCM technologies (Dayforce, Workday, Kronos, HPL)
  • Project management, Accounting
  • Proficient in MS office – Advanced Excel/Word/Visio
  • Proficient in SharePoint
  • Solid understanding of legislation as it relates to payroll (nationally)
  • Excellent Documentation and publishing skills (Process/system documentation, end-use support)
  • High commitment to data integrity, quality and operational excellence
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship management skills
  • Must have experience with Dayforce
