Our client, a global leader in financial services located in the North York/Richmond Hill area has selected The Talent Company to help search for a Human Resources Business Partner. This role is accountable for providing a full range of strategic HR support, advice and consultative service to their internal clients. The HRBP provides expertise in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, performance management and employee engagement.
 
Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary human resources contact for specified internal clients. Build a strong partnership with your clients by developing an in-depth understanding of their business needs.
  • Provide advice and consulting services to managers and/or employees on employment related issues, policies and procedures, human rights and employment legislation to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees and to ensure that common and consistent practices are followed throughout the organization.
  • Lead and execute the recruitment of positions up to the Manager level in support of your dedicated client group.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement company policies and procedures and appropriate training in all areas of employment, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment and selection, and compensation and benefits
  • Work with outside employment legal counsel on employment litigation matters, recommending an appropriate course of action on legal matters within their level of authority, and potentially representing the organization at mediations, discoveries, and trials
  • Maintain practices that ensure compliance with company, regulatory, legal and ethical policies and requirements.
  • Protect the health and safety of self and others by reporting unsafe conditions, working in compliance with the law and adhering to the safe work practices and procedures established and required by the organization.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in human resources or equivalent certificate in human resources
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience supporting a wide range of client groups
  • Must have a CHRP designation (or actively working towards it)
  • Proven experience as a trusted and collaborative business partner to the business
  • Hands-on, recruitment of roles from approval to hire
  • Experience with the successful handling of employee relations files including matter related to employment legislation, performance management, and issues
  • Demonstrated past experience in conducting investigations to resolution
  • Experience dealing with employment litigation matters
