Talent Specialist

Our client, a global leader in the technology space is looking for a Talent Specialist for their Toronto office. You will be tasked with onboarding, global recruitment, implementation of new talent programs and other general HR tasks. This person will report to the Vice President of Human Resources. Responsibilities: 
  • Manage the full cycle recruitment process globally (CDN, US, UK) including drafting job postings/job specs, screening, interviewing, preparing offers, conducting reference checks, tracking and reporting on recruitment metrics 

  • Run new hire onboarding including day one orientation and ongoing check ins with new hires 

  • Identify opportunities to promote the employer brand and build a pipeline for future opportunities 

  • Innovate ways to build a talent pipeline and recruit in a variety of venues. Own the employee referral program. 

  • Foster relationships with high calibre talent, build a solid pipe of next hires 

  • Manage the employer brand through effective social media, including Glassdoor, twitter 
and employer career page. Look for innovative ways to promote the company 

  • Participate in various industry events in order to build 
our employer brand 

  • Manage quarterly co-op program from start to finish, including developing relationships 
with various schools and program administrators 

  • Support the VP, Human Resources in the delivery of various HR projects and initiatives, 
such as the performance review process, any policy or program changes, training and 
development initiatives, Health and Safety Training etc. 

  • Facilitate employee off-boarding, including exit interviews and all documentation 

  • Play an active role in building company culture through the organization of social events 

  • Other special projects as assigned
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate Degree or Diploma, preferably in Human Resource Management or equivalent combination of education/experience 

  • 3-5 years of experience in a talent acquisition role, preferably in the software development or other technology companies. Familiar and comfortable with recruiting in a technical environment. 

  • 1 + year in an general HR role 

  • Ability to negotiate offers and compensation 

  • Proven social recruitment skills including pipeline building and fostering of relationships 

  • Excellent interpersonal and proven relationship management skills 

  • Detail oriented: takes ownership for the accuracy and completeness of tasks 

  • Strong influencing and coaching skills, and the ability to challenge where appropriate 

  • Comfort and ability to thrive in a high-change, fasted paced environment 

  • Ability to proactively balance a varied workload, deal with conflicting priorities and demonstrate flexibility where required. 

  • Enthusiastic, positive and self-motivated 

  • Strong proficiency in HR Systems (Jazz ATS and Bamboo HRIS, preferred) and MS Office/Google Docs
