Bilingual Director of Total Rewards

The Talent Company is pleased to be working with a global organization who are seeking a Bilingual Director of Total Rewards to step into a newly created role on their Canadian HR team.
 
About the Role
In this newly created role, the Director of Total Rewards will be responsible for:
  • Establishing compensation, benefits and total rewards strategies, policies and practices
  • Designing and managing the organization’s compensation and benefits programs
  • Evaluating market data, industry trends and best practices, to optimize the competitiveness and effectiveness of total rewards programs.
  • Ensuring appropriate plan governance and regulatory/statutory compliance.
  • Establishing compensation fundamentals such as a formal compensation philosophy, standardized processes, harmonized salary ranges, etc.
  • Overseeing the administration and communication of compensation and benefits processes through annual and ad hoc cycles.
  • Managing relationships with outside partners such as data vendors, consultants, brokers and advisors to balance service levels and cost impacts.
  • Assisting with merger and acquisition activities impacting the business including contributing to due diligence, conducting reviews and/or undertaking integration/redesign initiatives.
 
Requirements:
  • A Bilingual candidate (French/English) is strongly preferred.
  • Broad total rewards expertise including compensation (Executive and broad-based base pay, incentive programs) and benefits.
  • Pay equity expertise (especially Quebec).
  • Demonstrated record of strategic planning, change management and relationship management.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to create data-driven insights and derive meaning from analytics.
  • Resilience, a collaborative approach and results-orientation are crucial to success in this role.
  • Professional designation (CCP, CHRL, etc) strongly preferred.

Please note that this role does not have direct reports so the successful candidate will need to balance both strategic and tactical responsibilities.
