General Manager

Our client, a Canadian leader within the consumer pharmaceutical space is looking for a General Manager to lead one of their plants in British Columbia, Canada. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the facility, while working closely with the team to accomplish set goals. You will work alongside the management team in order to support rapid growth and ensure team members are engaged and operations are scaled for continued success.
•Oversight of all aspects of the operations.
•Ensure that operations are consistent with corporate, plant, production and regulatory standards.
•Develop site budget and KPIs and manage ongoing operating performance against plans.
•Ensure that all Health Canada regulations are being met with support and guidance from the quality team.
•Develop and implement a progress plan to improve quality, productivity and throughput.
•Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
•Ensure that best practices, standard work methods and Lean methodology are used across the site; ensure site is maintained up to GMP standards.
•Actively participate in GM network activities and provide guidance in support of other sites.
•5-10 years’ experience managing manufacturing facilities. Experience with Pharmaceutical, GMP and regulatory agencies a bonus.
•Experience overseeing and managing high volume, low waste, quality sensitive production environments.
•Engaging and flexible leadership style that serves to understand employee needs and works to provide a supportive culture.
•Ability to work in a new industry where processes are still in flux and growth is rapid.
•Experience with establishing and maintaining KPI's/metrics to help promote the "health" and progress of operations.
•Experience in running and efficient and compliant organization that is subject to external audit.
•Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
•Autonomous and decisive style of management.
•An engaging people manager with a strength in clear communication, setting and managing expectations and ensuring the team is aligned to the organizations goals and potential.
