Lymphoma Canada, a Canadian not-for-profit that provides patient education and support, has retained The Talent Company to search for it’s next Chief Executive Officer. This role reports into the Board of Directors for Lymphoma Canada and is based out of the head office in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

In this exciting, purpose-driven role, the Chief Executive Officer will work closely with the Board of Directors and Advisory Committees to design mid to long-term strategies while overseeing the execution of the annual business plan. Core areas of accountability include patient education and support, fund development, team coaching and engagement, financial management, and leveraging the counsel and expertise of the Board.
 
 Responsibilities Include:
  • Champion the mission, vision and values of Lymphoma Canada.
  • Design and implement a national fundraising strategy that supports strong partnerships and financial sustainability.
  • Ensure appropriate operational structure, governance and resources are in place to ensure an effective rollout of the business plan.
  • Create alignment between the Board, organization, external partners and team towards the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Promote innovation while enhancing and leveraging team capability and volunteer resources.
  • Foster strategic relationships with community, media, government entities and other organizations in the process of deepening awareness of the cause.
 
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience, including 3+ years in working closely with a Board of Directors and their Operating Committee’s.
  • University Degree in Business Administration, or equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Proven business, operational and leadership acumen within not-for-profit environments.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Effective in balancing strategy and growth while ensuring operational discipline (Finance, Risk, HR, Audit etc)
  • Experience with implementing a strategic planning framework, and developing and adhering to governance and operational policies.
  • Familiarity with the drug approval process and any subsequent follow-up as it pertains to not-for-profit environments.
  • Sound enterprise management experience (policy, process, reporting, KPI’s and change management).
  • Proven track record of successfully leading multi-faceted fundraising programs.
  • An engaging leadership style that promotes active communication, respect for colleagues, professional/career development while being focused on the operational strategy.
  • Passion for purpose-driven causes and clear orientation with helping others.
