ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Head of HR, this role will support the full spectrum of BRM companies and subsidiaries. This is a new position that will focus on the full spectrum of total compensation - from broad based to executive, from sales to business acquisitions. In addition, this position will focus on the introduction and/or management of global benefits and performance management programs as they evolve over time. 

This position has the opportunity to participate at both a broad and deep level in supporting the expansion of the company at a particularly exciting point in time and will be able to make a significant contribution to the growth of HR practices and capabilities for the whole of BRM. Compensation
  • Maintain an evolving compensation strategy that motivates performance and is fully aligned with BRM’s short and long term strategic plan and values.
  • Maintain awareness of BRM’s long-term business needs in order to design and implement compensation initiatives that will successfully support BRM’s future business.
  • Work with HR, Finance, Legal and the leadership team to design, consolidate, model and test the effectiveness of all incentive, bonus and commission plans.
  • Provide support and oversight on the develop, design and implementation of executive and sales compensation programs.
  • Administer the year end merit & bonus process - including data driven recommendations and recommended improvements to policy to enhance the administration process.
  • Participate in the due diligence of acquisitions as required to ensure an understanding of the total compensation practices, potential liabilities and integration strategy.
  • Provide compensation recommendations that will support recruitment and employment movement (e.g. promotion and transfers) taking into consideration internal equity and external competitive pay practices.
  • Ensure entity and process level controls continue to be built out as they relate to compensation, benefits and performance management.
  • Complete total compensation benchmarking reviews and participate in relevant market surveys.
  • Engage and build a rapport with staff, business leaders, HR Business Partners, Legal, and Finance in the delivery and communication of compensation programs.
Benefits Programs
  • Lead the design, strategy, implementation, vendor management, cost containment analysis and administration of all Canadian, US and international benefit programs. Benefits includes insurance-based programs (e.g. health coverage), wellness initiatives, savings programs and other employee value add programs (e.g. vacation, summer hours).
Data Analytics
  • Complete extensive data analytics to ensure BRM is able to make data-driven decisions, including tracking of employee activity, cost-benefits analysis, and cost projection models.
  • Provide advanced data analytic and excel support when requested, even when outside of total compensation. 
  • Report your findings in communication and presented in a manner as to ensure the ‘non-data’ audience fully understands the analysis and outcomes.
Performance Management
  • In collaboration with the Senior Manager of the HR Business Partner team, co-lead the performance management program’s deepening and expansion across the organization.
  • Ensure the performance management program is effectively linked to BRM’s pay and recognition programs.
  • Advise, educate and collaborate within HR and across all business units.
HR Information System
  • Analyze compensation design requirements to ensure successful implementation into current or new HRIS systems as required. Act as the gate-keeper for all HR system changes to ensure consistency in approach and proper control processes are implemented.
  • Oversee the vendor relationship and take a lead role in the introduction of future modules (e.g. compensation)
 

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor degree and at least 7 years of experience in the field of HR related to Total Compensation (e.g. Executive and broad-based compensation, employee benefits, performance management).
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and implementing incentive, bonus and commission plans.
  • Demonstrable experience implementing and maintaining successful compensation strategies.
  • Solid experience in compensation program governance.
  • Strong and proven analytical skills, including analysis of survey and report data
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of Power Point and Word.
  • Working knowledge of various HRIS and web-based compensation.
  • Strategic process thinking and ability to build and modify tactical plans and drive execution
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and business teams.
  • Action and multi-tasking oriented and adept at working in a fast paced, values driven, thriving organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills, interpersonal, project management, decision-making and time management skills.
  • Relationship building skills and ability to gain trust and confidence of a client group
  • Experience with acquisitions is an asset
  • CCP, CHRP or similar designation is an asset
