The Talent Company is pleased to be partnering with a global organization with a significant presence in Canada. Their Canadian Head Office is in Markham. Currently going through a period of transformation within their HR team, they are building an HR team that adds greater value to the business through greater collaboration and business partnering.

They are currently seeking a Manager, Learning and Development to provides direction to a learning team to help advance their skills and knowledge as learning and development professionals.  The focus for this role will be to lead and assess the effectiveness of current learning content and programs, and to collaborate between business leaders and the Human Resources team. This role reports into the Director of Corporate Learning.
Leading a team to achieve high levels of personal and professional growth by:
• Conducting one on one coaching, regular team meetings, Performance Plan checkpoint meetings, and annual performance reviews
• Mentoring and coaching on Adult Learning Methodology to support the design and development of blended learning curriculum
• Ensuring team adherence to expenses and other standards and guidelines
• Consulting with Directors, Managers and HR Business Partners on education/development requirements within their Areas of Accountability
• Communicating and clarifying when solutions to development requirements are in fact education-related or not and be prepared to provide explanations, and in some cases, alternative solutions/perspectives
• Providing input to Director, Learning, Development and Wellness to assist in determining long-term plans/direction for the department (2-3 years)
• Conducting analysis, review and adapt team strategy and execution plans as needed to meet demands of the business
• Translating big picture strategy to Learning and Development team so that each member understands their purpose/contribution and is engaged in fulfilling requirements
• Develop systems, processes and measurement that ensure we are delivering high quality training, setting clear expectations with our customers and able to measure the effectiveness of the learning
Learning Programs:
• Managing and leading the development of learning and develop programs by taking into account adult learning principles to consult, design and develop blended learning solutions in order to ensure meaningful and engaging transfer of learning
• Recommending education material taking into account adult learning principles and all available platforms in order to ensure meaningful and engaging transfer of learning
• Collaborating with Learning teams in parts of the organization

•University degree required.
•A degree/certification in Adult Learning methodologies certification in Instructional Design
•5+ years managing a team in person and virtually
•Experience focused on developing and coaching a high performance learning team; a desire to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement
•Agile, change agent and advocate, able to balance business realities and adjust to change in an evolving environment
•Proven track record in effectively influencing and navigating across organizational boundaries and building strong partnerships that produce mutual results
•Demonstrated experience with writing curriculum and developing technical and leaders materials
•Ability to write and edit content, instructional test, and to design interactive and engaging learning content
•Strong learning project management – demonstrated ability to plan and execute projects in consultation with business experts, leaders and front line staff
•Energetic, passionate, with drive for excellence and making things happen
