The Talent Company is pleased to be partnering with a global organization with a significant presence in Canada. Their Canadian Head Office is in the York Region. Currently going through a period of transformation within their HR team, they are building an HR team that adds greater value to the business through greater collaboration and business partnering.

They are currently seeking a Manager, Benefits & Retirement to help them shape and design these critical programs.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Total Rewards, the Manager, Benefits & Retirement will manage the design, development, communication, implementation and administration of all of the organization’s benefits programs, policies and procedures.
  • Lead strategic initiatives related to plan design or carriers, benefits costs and improving processes.
  • Manage implementation and administration of employee benefit programs such as health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, critical illness, employee assistance and other related plans.
  • Manage the design and administration of the organization’s retirement programs, which include both defined contribution and defined benefit plans.
  • Lead annual cycles regarding benefits and retirement programs.
  • Manage vendor relations and performance through service level agreements, usage and trend reports, regular performance meetings, and ensuring compliance with plan provisions.
  • Apply your knowledge of current legislation, trends and proven practices to optimize the effectiveness of benefit and retirement programs.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies which inform, educate and engage employees.
  • Participate in business projects as part of the larger total rewards and HR teams.
 

Requirements:
To successfully step in to this role you:
  • Are a certified total rewards professional (CEBS preferred)
  • Offer a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Have strong benefits expertise; exposure to retirement programs is an asset
  • Have managed people, programs or projects
  • Are an effective communicator, comfortable making persuasive cases in both written and verbal presentations.
