The Talent Company is pleased to be partnering with a global organization with a significant presence in Canada. Their Canadian Head Office is in Markham. Currently going through a period of transformation within their HR team, they are building an HR team that adds greater value to the business through greater collaboration and business partnering.

They are currently seeking a Human Resource Business Partner to provide strategic HR support, advice and consultative service to their internal clients. The HRBP provides expertise in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, performance management and employee engagement. This role reports to the Director of Human Resources.
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Act as the primary human resources contact for specified internal clients.  Build a strong partnership with your clients by developing an in-depth understanding of their business needs.
• Provide advice and consulting services to managers and/or employees on employment related issues, policies and procedures, human rights and employment legislation to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees and to ensure that common and consistent practices are followed throughout the organization
• Develop, recommend, and implement company policies and procedures and appropriate training in all areas of employment, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment and selection, and compensation and benefits
• Work with outside employment legal counsel on employment litigation matters, recommending an appropriate course of action on legal matters within their level of authority, and potentially representing the organization at mediations, discoveries and trials
• Maintain practices that ensure compliance with company, regulatory, legal and ethical policies and requirements. Ensuring thorough comprehension of practices, timely feedback, accurate documentation and participation in audits and reviews does this
• Responsible for full-cycle recruitment for positions within your internal client groups.
• Protect the health and safety of self and others by reporting unsafe conditions, working in compliance with the law and adhering to the safe work practices and procedures established
 
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree in business or human resources or equivalent certificate in human resources.  Working towards obtaining CHRP/CHRL designation.
• Minimum 5 – 7 years of progressive HR experience supporting a wide range of client groups
• Solid understanding and knowledge of employment legislation, HR trends, issues and best practices
• Demonstrated past experience in conducting investigations to resolution
• Experience dealing with employment litigation matters
• Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization and to effectively influence without authority
• Strong analytical, attention to detail and organization skills
• Prior experience with facilitating workshops to Managers would be an asset
• Prior experience coaching and consulting with clients
• Ability to handle multiple priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
