Site Process Engineer

Our client, a global leader in food production has retained The Talent Company to help with recruiting for a Site Process Engineer for their Canadian operations. Reporting to the Manager of Facilities and Engineering, the site Process Engineer is responsible for developing, recommending and implementing cost-effective equipment, process and safety improvements within the product requirements as well as complying with quality, engineering and safety standards. 
 

Responsibilities

  • Performs equipment /process analysis for improvements in safety, quality and cost reduction;
  • Carries out equipment/process and safety improvements, problem resolution, and project management with a focus on safety, quality and cost-reduction;
  • Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, production equipment installation, promoting sustainability while maximizing safety and the wellbeing of employees;
  • Prepares and presents plans for the above and coordinates deployment;
  • Coordinates the launch of new/revised manufacturing upgrades including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results;
  • Plans and implements assigned engineering projects including defining the project scope, project activities, milestones, contractor requirements as well as plant and customer requirements;
  • Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project;
  • Provides reports and presentations on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly;
  • Maintains interface with Business Unit to provide project updates and ensures customer needs are met;
  • Responsible for project forecasting and spending with frame work of set budget;
  • Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience in manufacturing and process.
  • Strong background in delivery of safety related projects
  • PSR, Structural safety experience
  • PE License
  • Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time to various plants and vendor sites.
