Commercial Business Analyst

Our client, a fast growing Licensed Producer within the Cannabis industry is looking for a Commercial Business Analyst that will support sales planning and insights that will in turn help form the Sales & Marketing strategy and corresponding performance reporting.

In this newly created role which reports into the Marketing division, the Commercial Business Analyst will help establish policies and procedures and develop best practices with sales forecasting and reporting. This individual will also provide data analysis, reporting, market research, competitive analysis, planning, and sales process optimization.
Ideal candidates will possess previous business analysis experience and have a client development strategy that extends beyond the data to develop a deep understanding and working relationship.
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment

  • Analyze statistical and business data/information and report findings.
  • Conduct competitive analysis (strategic analysis, product features, benefits, market share calculation, market mapping).
  • Use relevant project data to create heat maps that help identify target areas for business.
  • Manage the opportunity funnel and statistics that represent current and upcoming opportunities.
  • Collate data and create presentations for the board and executive team.
  • Build, manage and maintain performance reports and dashboards.
  • Assist with initiatives to expand the business strategically.
  • Create and utilize tools to form repeatable processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Management preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in a commercial and/or business analyst role.
  • Ability to understand complex data and insights and translate those into meaningful and value-added observations.
  • Strong presentation skills with experience synthesizing data and presenting to the executive team.
  • Expert level experience with the MS Office suite of products (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Access etc)
  • A Masters of Business Administration is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset
  • Flexibility – this role will adapt and change as is reflective in this industry.
