Public Relations and Communications Manager

The Talent Company is pleased to be partnering with our client, a rapidly growing manufacturer and provider of health products that are in search of a Public Relations and Communications Manager. With an office located in Downtown Toronto, this role reports to the Marketing Director and Chief Marketing Officer.

They are looking to hire someone who will lead the P.R and corporate communications efforts. At its core, this involves developing and implementing communications strategies and P.R plans to assure that their rapidly growing organization earns the media reputation, industry buzz, and consumer awareness that they deserve.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning and execution of public relations programs
  • Proactively identify emerging stories, trends and “white-space” opportunities
  • Reinforce strategic mandate of the company
  • Plan and execute press conferences or events
  • Develop and pitch new content ideas to create media opportunities for the brand
  • Maintain media contacts for targeted launches and outreach programs
  • Assist in developing key communications materials
  • Provide support to the marketing department on all strategies and programs
  • Assist both marketing and sales in all public relations and marketing efforts
  • Conduct research for target markets by conforming to territory requirements
  • Interact with customers to facilitate marketing and sales initiatives
  • Coordinate the flow of information between departments
  • Create and deliver public relations materials such as press releases, white papers, executive bios, corporate newsletter content, and proposals
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field
  • 3-5 Years of experience in Agency or Corporate Communications, specifically working on or in the Consumer Product Goods (CPG) industry
  • Proven program activation experience.
  • Must be a confident communicator and presenter
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Be proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to detail
  • Possess the ability to keep information confidential
  • Tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms
  • Experience with emerging digital marketing formats and content marketing
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
