Senior Compensation Analyst

The Talent Company is pleased to be partnering with one of the largest financial institutions located in Downtown, Toronto for a Senior Compensation Analyst position. 

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Compensation, you will be accountable for:

Market Survey Process and Market Analysis
• Under the guidance of the manager, coordinate and project manage the market data survey collection process. Includes timely preparation of the survey matching tools and working in partnership with Human Resources business partners to ensure job matching is completed and submitted on schedule, uploading survey submission data to the appropriate central technology database and managing appropriately.
• Upload market data results into standard technology database and initiate market analysis through existing technology data set. Review preliminary data results with more senior members of the Compensation team and validate the statistical integrity of the data. Prepare preliminary conclusions and recommendations and identify issues for consideration.

Variable Pay Funding and Forecasting, Base Pay Costing Analysis
• Under the guidance of the manager, analyze data and prepare funding/forecasting models using established procedures.  Liaise with internal partners/resources (e.g., Finance, HR business partners) to ensure timely sharing of required information for analysis and reporting. Prepare preliminary funding results, provide observations and monitor all relevant funding and forecasting impacts including variance to plan.
• Undertake various scenarios of the annual base pay cost modeling for the assigned banking group, as directed.

Compensation Analysis and Support
• Collaborate with the Senior Manager and Compensation Specialist to support HR Business Partners in delivering strategic compensation guidance and advice to business leaders for all non-executive roles in assigned banking group.
• Provide analytical support in the design of compensation plans, as required.
• Support new hire or internal out of cycle compensation decision making by modeling required recommendations

• Actively contributes to the success of the team as a whole by supporting other team members on an as-needed basis.

To successfully step in to this role, you will have: 
• Undergraduate degree with 2 years+ analytical experience, preferably in Compensation/Human Resources, Finance or equivalent
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
• Familiar with Compensation surveys
• Solid analytical and communication skills
• Thrives in a rapidly changing environment and maintains a sense of urgency
• Successfully balances competing priorities
• Strong focus and precise attention to detail
• Enjoys building rapport and relationships with others within and outside the organization
